Wedding Questions

Is there a difference in music for a church wedding vs. a private wedding?

Yes, there is a difference. Most churches have music guidelines that require traditional style wedding music that in some way maintains the religious values of the church. The version or style of the song can vary, which means you can have your artist of choice as long as the guidelines of the church are maintained. We can provide customized music services for your church wedding as approved by your church of choice. For private weddings you are completely free to choose your music selections. We can provide customized music services with songs of your choice ranging from traditional to extreme for your private wedding.

I have musicians/singers performing during my wedding, can you help?

For church weddings the location of musicians or singers is usually limited to the choir or band sections of the church, but we can help organize and maintain control of all music related services for your wedding. For private weddings we can help by providing microphones for singers as well as having musicians play through our system so we can maintain control of all music related services for your wedding.

My wedding will be outdoors, does this make a difference?

Outdoor weddings on the lawn or in the garden are beautiful. However, sometimes the weather changes quickly and the best made plans have to change. Much planning and preparation goes in to an outdoor wedding, so changing these plans on a few minutes’ notice is usually very difficult. It’s good to have a back-up plan established with all of your service providers well in advance of your outdoor wedding just in case the weather is unfavorable.

Can you play the music prior to the start of the ceremony when family and others are walking in?

Yes, we can. We can play pre-selected music for each part of your wedding ceremony. You may want specific music played while your guests are walking in, and different music played while your family is being escorted in to the ceremony to be seated. We can help by providing the music you’ve chosen specifically timed to your ceremony. Sometimes a pause in the ceremony may be needed for a wedding dress adjustment or a minute for calming your nerves as your about to walk down the aisle, we can take care of it as our wedding music services are with you every step of the way.

Reception Questions

How long have you been providing music services?

We have been providing musical and music services for 40 years with a variety of applications including wedding receptions, reunions, birthday parties, stage productions, live bands, plays, auctions, graduations, school dances and more.

What types of music do you have?

We carry one of the widest varieties of music in the industry. Styles of music range from the late 1930’s & 40’s Big Band, 50’s,60’s,70’s,80’s,90’s, 2000’s and today’s most modern Adult Contemporary, Country, Swamp Pop, Top 40 Dance, High Energy and Hip Hop music. Jazz, Classical and various selections from around the world are also available upon request.

Can I request special songs for my occasion?

Yes you can. We’ll ask you for a list in advance of any special songs that you may want played at your special occasion and we also take request from the crowd. However, we always use common courtesy and play selections that are appealing to most everyone. We are here to provide the best possible music, which meets your needs for your occasion.

Do you have a volume control for your system?

This is one of the questions most often asked. YES, we do. Many bands and music services seem to have only one volume,( LOUD ). We pride ourselves in providing a quality sound and still maintain a comfortable listening volume. Please, always keep in mind, volume levels mostly depend on the type of function, but you are at all times able to decide if you would like it louder or softer.

Do you have qualified personnel providing music services?

Myself, and/or my assistant attend every function that “THE BOOGIE BOX” is hired to provide musical services for. Having 40 years of experience in the music industry, we’re always ready to provide the best in modern musical services.

Do you have enough equipment to perform the job adequately?

Yes. Whether it is a small gathering of 20 or 30 people, or an arena seating 5,000 people, we have enough equipment, which can be arranged, in a variety of ways to provide quality sound for most all musical needs.
