The Boogie Box Sound Company was started in 1981 as a DJ service and PA rental for live bands. I had been a DJ with a small system for several years doing small local jobs and was currently working as a radio DJ at a Top 40 station in the area. Quite often I’d get calls from listeners looking for a music service for their wedding or party that could provide a variety of music. Music not for only one particular age group, but all age groups at the same time, but there was none available that provided the variety that people were looking for. Most live bands played just one or two styles of music which favored older or younger people but there were no live bands that could provide music for all age groups.

It was then that I realized there was a need for a specialized music service and The Boogie Box Sound Company was created. Parties, weddings, graduations and the list goes on, and people were calling for music services. The key to our initial success was that we were able to provide a service in the music industry that only few live bands could fill, and the few that could were very expensive. So the thought of having a variety of quality music at your event suddenly became very affordable. As time went on, more live bands and music providers realized the market needed changing and began to offer more variety in their song choices. In today’s music industry the key choices in music providers are, a live band if you’re looking for a visual show or performance or concert type atmosphere, or a DJ service if you’re looking for music to help enhance the atmosphere of your function or event. Through the years I’ve continued production for radio and TV commercials and also open a digital recording studio to record and master audio projects for singers and musicians.

So, the question is, with all of the choices in music providers, who do you trust to take care of the music for your event? Our answer is simple. We’ve been providing music services for 40 years in a variety of applications. Weddings, receptions, reunions, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, private parties, company parties, holiday parties etc. and the list goes on. We’ve experienced most everything imaginable and then some things, even we were surprised with. Our difference is, if you tell us what you want, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
